  Spearheaded development and application of two new train control technologies now FRA certified as Type-Approved Positive Train Control systems: ACSES & ITCS. ACSES is currently being extended throughout the entire Northeast Corridor (NEC), three Amtrak Connecting (to the NEC) Corridors, on six Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern Commuter Railroads adjacent to the NEC, and on locomotives of several Eastern Freight Railroads that operate over portions of these lines. ACSES is normally overlaid on traditional ATC, and with that combination supports High Speed Trains (HSTs) up to 160mph in the NEC. ITCS is currently operating on Amtrak's Michigan Corridor where it was originally developed, supporting Higher Speed Trains (HrSTs over 79mph) up to 110mph. ITCS also has an advance highway crossing warning system start feature which is very cost effective in extending 110mph operation to new lines where there are a large number of highway crossings. This feature is currently being installed on the Union Pacific Chicago to St. Louis Corridor as X-ITCS to support 110mph operation of Amtrak trains on that line, and expanded forms of ITCS are being installed as C-BOSS in the Caltrain Commuter Corridor, SFO-SJC, and on the All-Aboard Florida HrSR project as E-ATC (Enhanced - Automatic Train Control), MIA-ORL.
