I have opened my own private law practice representing small businesses and nonprofits. My Practice areas include Contracts and other transactions, employment law counseling and digital, marketing and advertising law issues such as preparation and review of website terms and conditions and privacy policies. I have also represented numerous clients in the sports and entertainment industry and am an Adjunct Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law where I teach "The Law of Professional Sports". From June 2012 thru June 2015, I was Senior Counsel for a high tech manufacturing company, where I handled all the company's commercial transactions and employment law matters.From February 2002 to November 2011, I was Senior Vice President & General Counsel for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In that capacity, I had responsibility for all legal matters for the Organization including: drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts; employment law matters, operations issues, insuring compliance with regulatory requirements and various IP clearance and enforcement issues. I also managed all risk management, insurance, workers compensation and litigation involving the Club and was responsible for handling contracts for all salary arbitration eligible players and assisting the Club on all multi-year contracts. Finally, as General Counsel and Secretary to Pirates Charities, the Club's 501(c) Foundation, I provided legal advice on a variety of non-profit related issues.Prior to joining the Pirates, I was a Shareholder at Dickie, McCamey, where I handled commercial litigation matters and chaired the Firm's Appellate Practice Group.
