When it comes to Domino I still do many of the same things I did before but now focused as to how they relate to Enterprise Vault for Domino. I still write code using the Domino Designer, Visual Studio C++ using the Notes API to create server tasks and extension managers or other tools. I also support Enterprise Vault on Exchange.

I support multiple products from Symantec. My main product has been SMSDOM. I am tier 3 support for the product but also work closely with product management, development, and quality assurance for future maintenance builds and product releases. I have also created many tools over the years to help customers and our own support organization. This can include high level stuff like LotusScript agents, designer, and lower level stuff like notes api programming where I have created extension managers and server tasks tools. I have written tools in 32bit and 64bit for both Windows and AIX platforms.

When underway we spent a lot of time entering data and doing server maintenance. Very quickly I became shift supervisor of the night shift where after performing our duties I would provide training and maintain the backup tape library. I was ceritified as a Novell Engineer and was an admin on that network also. I had previous programming experience and so when the opprotunity came up I began working on clipper and foxpro databases and then began automating many of the nightly maintenance routines for our snap 1 system. I then dove into assembler, writing interrupts, communication programs, windows applications, xwindows/motif, unix applications, TSRs, system security, and much more. Later at the War College I helped rebuild the our modeling and simulation network moving it off many different types of platforms over to Windows NT. This took a lot of planning and the design of many applications to help in the processso that when it was time the process would be smooth and successful. Much of Window security deveopment back then was undocumented and so really took some effort getting some stuff done. Here I was also in charge of maintaining backups, the Exchange Server, SQL server, many file servers, software installations/management, etc.
