Much of my focus was developing new SaaS products and integrating existing products with public cloud-based services.

As chief architect, I oversaw and led the technical direction for Arbor Networks' security products and managed a team of architects working in each product team. I led the design and implementation of Arbor's first Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) scrubbing product that became the core of Arbor's DDoS prevention solutions.

As co-PI, I worked on a research project (Diamond) that enabled interactive searching over large (multi-terabyte) complex data sets, such as images and videos. Our solution enabled efficient brute-force analysis by moving computation to the storage devices. This approach allowed the storage layer to optimize software evaluation and quickly eliminate uninteresting data. We tested our project with two applications: image search and forensic video search.

As an architecture team member, my responsibilities included developing a runtime environment and high-level APIs for the Intel IXP family of Network Processors to simplify application development. I worked closely with the hardware architects to evaluate how proposed features affect software performance and programmability.

As an early team member, I was a key contributor to the design and implementation of the NetBoost software. This software allowed application developers to run their software on NetBoost's network-optimized processor, all while programming in high-level languages.

As a member of Ipsilon's network kernel development team, I worked on various aspects of the forwarding software that dynamically mapped IP traffic flows onto switched ATM virtual circuits.

During my thesis, I provided access to a distributed file system over low-bandwidth and intermittently available networks. My goal was to improve user experience using the file system by optimizing network utilization and reducing traffic. I implemented my research ideas on the Andrew File System (AFS), running on various UNIX operating systems.

I modified Sun's Cache File System to enable clients to access files from the cache when the network was down. Cached file updates were logged and synchronized with the server when the network became available again while detecting any conflicts.
