I am the Global Service and Support manager for the HP Inc's Pagewide Webpress product line (since May 2011).I am an experienced and successful manager of people and programs at many levels in an organization. I am an expert in InkJet technology and passionate evangelist for elegant technology solutions to societal challenges. I am an opportunity recognizer, strategist and commercializer. My innate curiosity pushes me to keep up on technological progress and understand and seek leverage from the past and multiple technology disciplines. I am a "self driven self-starter" with infectious enthusiasm.One of my passions is renewable energy and grid-scale energy storage. I act in a volunteer capacity as the Energy Storage Consultant for the Oregon Clean Power Cooperative for community solar projects up to about 200KW. I am also a believer in effective passenger rail - in this regard I started casprail.org, an advocacy and lobbying organization promoting improved passenger rail service on the west coast.At HP I have been responsible for the design and commercialization of consumer and commercial inkjet products, and the management of corporate innovation and new business development. When I left HP (May, 2005) for 6 years to pursue entrepreneurial activities, I was the director of HP's 'internal incubator' - the New Business Creation (NBC) team in the Imaging and Printing Group. Under my direction NBC discovered, researched, developed, and launched many new businesses such as Lightscribe and an Inkjet Photo-minilab joint venture with Kodak (Phogenix). One of my greatest accomplishments was the establishment of processes, procedures and business controls necessary for a repeatable, credible corporate incubator system.I am a committed family man, and am actively engaged in local economic development and community service. I live in Corvallis, Oregon.I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
