Took a 6 months dive into my family business, and decided that it would be good to explore again prior to settling down and performing a similar task and position for a long period.Went back to Grant Thornton Malaysia after they merged with another audit firm, M.S.W, and became Grant Thornton M.S.W. The first two years at Grant Thornton Malaysia was learning to be an assistant, while my third year at Grant Thornton M.S.W, I learnt and experienced the below;- Assisted in the coordination and implementation of audit software, voyager to the firm that has merged with Grant Thornton Malaysia.  Coordination of an engagement team as a team leader. Guiding a junior and understanding that audit is a team-based assignment and no man should be left behind. Meeting deadlines while ensuring the quality of work, especially for engagements that have been performed for the 3rd time, in my 3rd year.  Providing training to my colleagues on cycles of an audit engagement.  Understanding and providing a service that a client not only needs, but deserves.

Job Responsibilities Rendering reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, thereby enabling the team to express an opinion on whether the financial statements are prepared, in all material respects, in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (“MFRS”), Malaysian Private Entities Reporting Standards ("MPERS") and other applicable standards. Performing complete client engagement from start to finish, this includes planning the audit, performing or executing audit procedures, reporting and completing engagements in a timely cost efficient manner. Being part of the core team is needed, either a leader or an assistant, and constantly monitoring the resources, time and budget of the engagement. Maintain a strong client focus, be responsive to clients’ requests, and develop/maintain productive working relationships with client personnel. Good relationship with people through teamwork, integrity and leadership. Collaborate with co-team members to achieve the goals.

1. RSM RKT & Co provided a platform where I was able to gain first-hand experiences in the audit industry.as an Intern.2. I was placed under the guidance of several patient senior associates and were taught the ropes of performing an audit 3. I understood and enjoyed the opportunities provided to interact with our client(s) as we seek to learn more about the companies when performing the audit.4. With more experiences on hand, I was even assigned the task on guiding fellow new interns on the tasks I had previously completed. (For example, the audit on a client's P&L sections- staff remunerations, rental expenses and more). 5. Throughout the 6 months internship at RSM RKT & Co, I was able to broaden my horizons and was able to meet various professionals of different industries. 6. I learnt to think out of the box and always be sure to imagine the client's business model before proceeding to approach the client and draft the walk-through for their purchases and sales (for e.g).This provides me a deeper and clearer picture before proceeding and assist on the audit.
