About Lars Rørbakken

I am a product developer with an educational background in engineering - machine, design, pedagogy and interactive media. A strong combination in our market that constantly demands better functionality, elegance and user-friendliness from their products.For me, it is a magical feeling when at the end of a development run you have created a product you are proud of! These moments give me a lot of meaning in life and help to drive me to always do my best!Like all good designers I have a "split personality". The creative and solution-oriented personality that appears at the beginning of any project, and the exact and systematic that appears when the fabrication documents are made.I have always been a big technology enthusiast who since I was little has had a low threshold for picking things apart to see how they work. Ever since I assembled my first computer in the early 2000s, I have spent much of my free time keeping up to date with the latest in consumer electronics.Much of my work experience as a product developer is in CAD modeling, technical documentation, sourcing and start-up/follow-up of development cooperation in Europe and Asia, as well as hands-on assembling and testing of prototypes (stress and lifecycle tests). I have experience with developing components that are cast in aluminum and various types of plastic and rubber, 3D-printed (FDM, SLS and SLA), lathed, milled, vacuum-formed, extruded, cut with water/laser and bent. I therefore have broad knowledge of designing for different types of production processes and material selection, as well as assessing costs.With the work I have done and my education I have acquired a lot of knowledge and experience with 3D modeling and product development, good insigtsh in IT-development, a conscious relationship to learning processes and much more. I communicate well across disciplines, especially in IT, design and mechanical engineering.
