Manage Minnesota Zoo’s primary fundraising event the Beastly Bash. Oversee live auction, online auction, live programming, gala staffing, committee meetings, vendors and event flow. This includes regular communication with committee members, Foundation staff and Zoo staff. Create regular donor benefit events that maintain donor relationships and assist in donor cultivation.

Managed and created content for the social media channels of the Minnesota Zoo. Developed and executed social media content strategies and promotional strategic plans on behalf of the Zoo to build, grow and maintain a positive reputation and recognition for the Minnesota Zoo. Worked with Zoo staff to develop strategic content for social posts, blog entries, marketing promotional materials, website content, etc. Managed and assisted in writing Minnesota Zoo’s e-communications. Assisted with the promotion and social assets surrounding events. Cultivated partnerships across departments and within the community. Increased social media followers by 23%.

Contract work with Culture Casts, an event production team that brings stories to the stage. Projects included NPR Presents Family Matters and NPR Presents Michel Martin: Going There. Managed hospitality and logistics for talent. Organized weekly reports and task lists, maintained clear communication between all team members. Coordinated accommodations for show’s staff and created detailed show itineraries. Stage-managed and tech assistance when needed.

Assisted the Events Director in organizing content-producing events at MPR and the Fitzgerald Theater. Managed and coordinated travel and accommodation logistics for guests, created detailed itineraries for events such Wits and Broadcast Journalist Series. Assisted with catering orders and event rentals. Used clear communication with events staff, MPR/APM programs, publicists, and talent, at both a local and national level. Cultivated high quality relationships both internally and externally. Assisted where needed at events to make sure plans ran smoothly. Helped process invoices, purchasing and expenses of the performance programs team.

Planned and implemented the pilot series A Beautiful World (ABW), a monthly live show recorded for potential broadcast and digital repurposing. Created content and maintained timelines to ensure all deadlines and projects were met and completed for the live event. Maintained clear communication of details to shows guests and staff. Was responsible for catering orders and event rentals for the live show. Managed production costs within budget constraints. Wrote and produced on-air promotion for the show. Worked closely with the host, conducting and editing interviews to be used in the program, coordinating and maintaining communications across all departments involved with ABW. Managed ABW’s Twitter account and social media calendar.

Archived episodes and interviews, as well as catalogued images and recipes for show’s website. Helped create social media calendars for the show’s Facebook and Twitter accounts. Produced the show’s call-in segment and annually contributed to the live Thanksgiving show, Turkey Confidential. Organization, attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills ensured that program tasks and deadlines were met. Researched and pitched segment ideas. Successfully created and maintained relationships with publicists and authors, working with a wide variety of people and work styles.

As a production intern at 89.3 The Current, at Minnesota Public Radio (MPR), I provided administrative and creative support to the assistant music director, and producer to helpproduce The Local Show, a music program focusing on the local scene. I was responsible for updating and proofreading our web content as well as writing musician profiles and episode descriptions. I maintained the stations social media presence on Facebook posting on new albums and in-studio performances. Coordinating with the Communications and Marketing departments I utilized new media and social networking sites to promote The Local Show. Working with many different departments required me to maintain strong communication skills. I have editing skills in ProTools, Audacity and Final Cut Pro.

As production intern at American Public Media’s The Splendid Table I demonstrated the ability to manage the multiple tasks that go into producing a weekly national program. I developed strong researching skills through researching potential topics, guests, books and background materials. I arranged ISDNs and was point of contact for interviews requested by the Executive Producer. I contributed to the weekly run downs and ensured deadlines were met. Upon completion of my internship The Splendid Table contracted with me to organize and archive the program’s web content.
