Main Challenges through the period was to defend Norden from hostile take-over bid from Torm, develop and implement a Growth Strategy with strict Risk Limitations during early 2000’s, “Anchor to the wind”, challenged ability to obtain Critical Mass in two segments and a Revised post-Financial Crisis Strategy; Increase Coverage, Cost Cutting, Slow Streaming and Eco tonnage.MAIN ACHIEVEMENTS for the period was USD 431 million in EBIT, including USD 202 million in Profit from Asset Play (Buying and Selling of Vessels), and USD 336 million in annual revenue 2011. Strategies of “Anchor to the wind”, “Focus on Product Carriers” and “Control your Risks” post Financial Crisis developed and implemented. Build Norden’s Tanker Fleet to 48 Vessels and a very competent and skilled team of 53 colleagues and 3 overseas offices. Exited Crude Oil segment by selling 3 Crude Oil Carrier Sales, flipped 4 Purchase Options Vessels and re-invested in 7 Product Carriers. Founded and established Norient Product Pool in 2005, start up Fleet size 12 Vessels. Norient Product Pool developed in-house MRV (Monitoring, Reporting, Verification) system to effectively curb fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in daily operation. Placed 4 New Building Contracts in Korea, 13 New Building Contracts in China and 3 New Building Contracts in Japan.
