St. John's Residence and School for Boys is a residential foster care agency for abused, dependent, and neglected boys ranging in age from 8 to 21. As Director of Permanency Planning I manage the Residential Treatment Center’s Social Service Department 95 Social Workers, 2 Drivers, and a Secretary). I implement innovative methods in support of permanent reunification and closely monitor the achievement of all mandates pertaining to reporting, progress notes, and child meetings. Additionally, I ensure that monthly data reports are submitted to courts and ACS in a timely manner. My team has consistently outperformed our reporting goal, achieving 93% of our monthly mandate vs. a target of 85%.Since assuming the Director role, I have transitioned the program from an ACS-designated “high monitoring” program to a thriving program that consistently exceeds mandated goals. In 2016, we achieved a score of 90%, surpassing ACS' goal of 85% and dramatically improving upon a 2014 score of 50%. I accomplished this by reorganizing the department, improving monitoring efforts, enhancing staff training and accountability, and introducing productive monthly staff meetings.Coordination and facilitation are major components of my work in this role. I serve as a Trained Facilitator with experience organizing and executing quarterly Family Team Conferences. I also coordinate all aspects of placements, movements of population, collection of case information, case record- keeping, and statistical information.Additional experience includes:• Screening, interviewing, rejecting, and admitting potential residents for the Residential Treatment Center for Boys • Responding to Planned Placement Referrals from the Office of Placement and Department of Probation• Submitting diagnostic packages to ACS with necessary follow-up to aid in the coordination all inter/intra agency transfers from DRC’s• Conducting home visits and attending and participating in criminal and family court hearings
