● Responsible for expanding the Victims Compensation Department at Center for Victims as a result of submitting the highest number of compensations claims in Pennsylvania and receiving the greatest amount of financial reimbursement from the Victims Compensation Assistance Program (VCAP) paid out to victims.● Provided immediate and long-term trauma counseling, safety planning, victims compensation assistance for funeral and medical expenses to the victims and families of the Tree of Life Shooting.● Advocated for the victims of the Tree of Life Shooting to ensure that all victims’ rights were upheld, and victims received clear and correct information throughout the FBI’s investigation.● Trained Victims Compensation Specialist on all facets of the Victims Compensation Program along with all Center for Victims’ internal protocols.

● Provided direct assistance to 1,600 clients annually throughout all stages of the victim compensation filing process.● Liaised and networked between VCAP, health service providers, creditors, funeral service providers, and law enforcement to lessen the financial hardship of crime for victims by ensuring claim payout.● Responsible for the management of compensation files to ensure timely and accurate processing and payout of claims.

● Partnered with CMU app developers to design Full Circle, an app that notifies crime victims of the status of their offenders (intake, arraignment release) within the Allegheny County Jail System.● Provided direct services to over 2,000 victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and all other violent crimes through 3,000 calls, emails, and face-to-face meetings.● Provided crisis counseling for victims in emergency situations by providing safety planning, counseling options, and shelter information.● Created strong working relationships with the District Attorney’s Office, the Office of Victim Advocate; Homeland Security; 107 local police departments; and Juvenile, Family and Criminal Courts to provide support to crime victims and ensure the victim’s rights were upheld.
