Experienced Behavioral Health Policy Coordinator with Sarasota County Health and Human Services. I earned my Psychology Degree from University of Florida and Master’s Degree in Counselor Education at the University of South Florida. My career started working in the child welfare system in 2000 providing direct services and oversight to the system of care for over 15 years. I remain the chair of the local Child Abuse Death Review Team that utilizes a systematic review and analysis of child deaths to identify and implement prevention strategies to eliminate child abuse and neglect deaths. My current role includes monitoring and identifying needs, priorities and resources for the behavioral health system of care in Sarasota County. Through this work, I have established networks and collaborations to promote community outreach, obtain public input and enhance public-private partnerships in implementing programming to meet the communities needs. In this capacity I serve as a liaison and maintain close working relationships with community leaders, advocates, funders and provider agencies. This role allows me to coordinate the Behavioral Health Stakeholders’ Consortium, Acute Care System Task Force, and the Behavioral Health Advisory Council, as well as serves on several community-wide groups that impact behavioral health, criminal justice, and children and youth.
