With an educational background in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management, in addition to one year of field experience as a Junior Soil Scientist, I have had the opportunity to actively develop my skills as a professional in the field of environmental science.My consulting assignments have included several field programs, some in which I had the responsibility as a soil salvage monitor in the oil sands region. Through taking on the role of a soil salvage monitor, I have had the opportunity to gain environmental experience in both in situ and open-pit mining operations. In addition to soil salvage monitoring, I have been actively involved in summer field work programs which have included the collection of soil data points for pre-disturbance assessments. My assignments with Golder have also comprised of the construction and submission of environmental reports.

Assisted a PhD student by executing particle size distribution and dual frequency laboratory experiments with collected soil samples. Also assisted in mentoring co-workers. Completed regular data entry using excel. Responsiblities also included laboratory clean-up.

Contributed to recruitment initiatives by updating the Taleo Family Project. Assisted administrators by contacting candidates and scheduling interviews. Also responsible for assuming receptionist duties during lunch hours which included greeting individuals and answering phone calls.

Assisted a Graduate student, which included separating aquatic invertebrates and leaf matter from collected samples as well as identification of aquatic invertebrates. Additional duties consisted of laboratory cleanup.

Completed daily field reports, safety forms, ensuring that completed forms were documented and sent to company managers and contractors. In addition, performed destructive testing on geosynthetic liner coupons.

Collected and tested water samples in a lab to ensure compliance with MMER and MISA Water Quality. Equipment calibration prior to testing water samples was also conducted. In addition, weekly maintenance on air monitoring stations was conducted. As part of the Fugitive Dust Improvement Program, created a new heavy vehicle quality checklist to comply with the program.
