I organize and schedule the calendar of events for the entire building. I also coordinate all programs with therapeutic goals and objectives for residents of all abilities.My job requires me to plan and organize all outings, entertainment and special interest presentations for the residents based on interest inventories and resident requests.In a multidisciplinary team I collaboratively plan special events with all members of the management team to ensure successful and effective programming for residents, staff and the local community.I am responsible to coordinate and manage volunteers as well as cooperative education students from local high schools and colleges.I encourage self-directed programming for residents by residents and maintain assessments for all residents to ensure quality programming is being offered for all residents of different abilitiesAs Staff Development Coordinator I collaboratively facilitate quarterly staff meetings and new staff training with all members of the management team.As co-chair of the Quality of Work Life committee, organizing staff appreciation events, updating bi-monthly education boards.

This position required me to facilitate activities for individuals with varying abilities. I facilitated both group and individualized programming along with doing assessments to assess the needs for each individual resident. I was also part of the restorative care team that assisted residents in restorative dining as well as restorative care through working with residents on their abilities, such as goals to walk with a walker.
