Developing a new scheme of work for the A-lev product design and engineering course, which challenges students to begin degree level work such as simulation testing. Using solid works they are able to test their 3D final designs before making their final product. Educating younger year groups the core value of health and safety when working in different workshop environments,the use of different machinery and materials such as wood,metal and polymers. Organising a whole school Science and Technology festival. Collaborating with local engineers and scientists to present experiments and career opportunities. While also creating STEM based projects for children and staff to explore during the three day event. Such as the challenge to make and race a rocket car powered by a fuel motor. I am proactive in maintaining the tools,equipment and machinery in the schools workshops. Making sure everything meets the health and safety requirements while also making the workshop an intriguing and exciting learning environment for children and young people.

Lead of Design technology and key stage 3 Art. I executed new and exciting projects to the school which tripled our GSCE and A-level intake. With this increase of numbers and enthusiasm for design I then implemented a laser cutter. Having previous knowledge of this machinery, such as Adobe Illustrator and 2D design software. I then communicated this technical knowledge with the science and mathematics department. With this new technology Art and Design final projects became more impressive to our exam boards. Pupils felt they were gaining skills that could be transferred to industry. Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations and preparing Design Technology portfolios for A-level and GCSE exam board submission.

Teaching a wide range of topics within design technology such as graphic design, electronics,product design and engineering. Adapting my teaching resources and scheme of work to tailor to a high SEN year group in particular SEN boys. Linking their love for music to designing a speaker project -giving pupils the opportunity to learn real world skills such as soldering,coding and efficiency in programming. I lead training evenings for staff within my department such as learning how to use the Adobe suite within education for example Photoshop and Illustrator. Presenting at whole school and year group assemblies with my main focus to encourage a younger generation to consider a career in design or engineering. This was well received by pupils I was then asked by the Headmaster to present for the schools careers evening for parents.

Educating mixed pupils from ages 11-16 I conducted a small study group for pupils struggling with exam revision and completing homework at home. Advancing in my practical and workshop based skills I attended courses and workshops in metal work, heat processes and wood sawing machines. I assisted in the development of design software that was being used in the school such as the introduction of drawing tablets for pupils this was a successful addition to their portfolio work.
