AMS Certified Meteorologist (#746) at KOKI FOX23 in Tulsa, OK. I have always loved the weather and am on a constant mission to learn more about it. I grew up in Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma where I earned my Meteorology degree with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. While in college, I dove into research on the colors and presentation of weather warnings and how the public interprets the information. With one of my research partners, I had the honor to present the findings at the 2014 National Weather Association Conference in Salt Lake City.Since starting my career, I have covered just about everything. Virginia tested my skills with mountain forecasting and blizzards. Coming back to Oklahoma brought me back to what first got me interested. I have covered severe weather in studio during hours of continuous coverage and out in the field assessing damage. Spring 2019 in northeast Oklahoma was unforgettable. A record amount of tornadoes followed by extensive flooding that lasted weeks emphasized how important this job is.
