I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist working within Early Intervention in Psychosis. It is a joy and a privilege to work with my patients, collaboratively assess and build a person-centred treatment plan in accordance with their goals, values and evidence based research. Unsurprisingly, a lot of my patients have experienced trauma. Trauma which may have been involved in triggering their first episode of Psychosis, the trauma of experiencing psychosis itself (including the lack of control in loosing insight, heightened confusion, and in the case of being sectioned; the fear of police and/or the chaotic nature of many acute mental health wards), as well as trying to put back together many aspects of their lives following a psychotic break. Hence, I am passionate about empowering patients to learn more about themselves, their illness and to consequently gain autonomy by becoming their own therapist and achieving a life meaningful to them.
