In this role I provided either ongoing on-site HR and H&S Advisory support, or worked with clients on short/long term HR projects. My work included supporting/advising executive leadership teams on business workforce planning and organisational structures, providing internal HR/H&S mentoring, employment investigations, HR policy writing and reviews, employment agreement advice/review, recruitment, learning and development framework development, and all aspects of H&S and HSWA compliance including risk management.

Part-time 0.5FTE - 12 months fixed term to cover parental leaveIn this role I worked as part of a full-service HR consultancy with a range of small and medium organisations in the Waikato region (primarily Hamilton). This was a broad generalist HR role working as part of a large, high-performing HR advisory team. Largely autonomous within our business portfolios, the HR Advisor roles provided senior advisory support to specific organisations and teams within the group. Personally, I worked primarily with Pathways, Women's Wellness, Le Va and Te Pou. My work included leading and participating in HR projects (particularly continuous improvement and innovation systems), significant WSMP audit preparation to tertiary level, writing and reviewing HR and H&S policies, recruitment, learning and development, competency mapping, workshop facilitation, and all aspects of ER including disciplinary processes and restructuring.

Part of a small HR team in this high-performing engineering company, I provided generalist HR and H&S advice across the New Zealand operations of NDA. This included travelling to our five NZ sites (I was based at the head office in Hamilton).In this truly broad HR role I worked on everything from recruitment, apprentice programme management, employment relations (including working with the EPMU), policy development and implementation, restructuring and performance management. I also advised and ran the full range of health and safety activities, including hazard management, accident investigations, managing return to work cases, collating and reporting H&S data, setting up H&S training, rewriting all H&S processes for electronic storage (via Promapp), and preparing for and achieving tertiary level ACC WSMP.

This was a sole-charge, broad HR generalist role working with employees and managers across seven manufacturing and engineering companies within the Maisey Group. A fantastic introduction to the full range of HR activities, this role covered everything including employment relations, remuneration, recruitment, health and safety and HR policies.
