Current Masters student at Edinburgh Napier university for wildlife biology and conservation (accredited by CIEEM). I hold a BSc Hons in Animal Biology from the University of Stirling and I am working for Professor David Copplestone in Stirling university’s Environmental Radioactivity Laboratory that is commissioned by SEPA for environmental monitoring. I am heavily involved in field sampling of soil/sediments, vegetation and fresh water as well as the laboratory processings of these samples. This summer/autumn I am also working at Direct Ecology, dusk surveying bat species across the central belt. These surveys, as well as the bats conservation trusts’ workshop ‘British bats, their ecology and conservation’ has really improved and added to my knowledge on our native species and fast tracked identification in field. I have farm work and veterinary clinic care experience gained through volunteering and I am open to more voluntary training.
