Development Engineer
A key component in diagnostic X-ray systems is the detector part where X-rays are converted into visible light. This is done with a scintillating material. Philips Healthcare has chosen to insource scintillator materials especially for CT and PET systems for reasons of strategy, price and performance. In this context, I am responsible for the development and industrialization of new materials and manufacturing processes for ceramic scintillator detectors. My main tasks in this position are:• Equipment selection and release• Recipe and process development• Optimization of process windows • Understanding the relation between material properties and product performance• Defining the relation between input/output and performance of the sub processes• Material quality agreements/specification with suppliers• Set up test methods for product validation• Data and root cause analysis, process FMEA• Work-Package Leader material strength

Ceramic Multilayer Capacitors consist of alternating layers of dielectric material and conducting metal electrodes. The main characteristic of a capacitor is to store energy. More and thinner dielectric layers result in a higher energy storage; the competitive edge for the CMC producing companies. My role was to setup a pilot line for production of thin dielectric layers.
