I provide direct mental health services for a population of over 1300 students and families of Mills High School in Millbrae, Ca. I implement a multi-tiered system of supports for students including assessment, individual and group therapy, consultation, care coordination, and crisis counseling to assist students overcome dependencies and maladaptive coping to fully realize individual potential and wellness.

I serve as principal therapist John O’Connell High School in the Mission District of San Francisco. I provide individual, group, and family treatment, substance abuse counseling, clinical case management, intake assessment, clinical evaluation, and consultation to at-risk students. Offer culturally competent therapy to 15-25 weekly clients, assess new referrals, provide crisis, and drop-in counseling. Administer effective therapeutic interventions integrated from Trauma-Informed, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Specific, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), social justice, and mindfulness practices. Afford trauma-informed consultation, guidance, and training to teachers, families, and staff. Assist clients and school staff with referrals to specialists and outside agencies for coordinated care. Maintain HIPPA standards in documentation of assessments, notes, diagnoses, treatment plans, and mandated reports. Work with parents, foster placements, social workers, probation officers, case managers, and mentors to develop supportive care-teams for clients. Aid caregivers and clients in arranging medication evaluations and psychological testing. Advocate for clients in Individual Education Plan (IEP), 504, and Student Success Team (SST) meetings. Support graduating and transferring students in extended foster care placement, transitional plans, community college and career training opportunities

Evolve organizes high-impact grassroots campaigns to benefit all Californians. Current campaign focus is on reforming California Proposition 13. Loopholes in Prop. 13 have crippled California, decimated our education system, increased government gridlock, and created a massive handout to corporations. All this comes at the expense of homeowners, students, and working families. Evolve is working to reform Proposition 13 so that commercial property pays its fair share, and funding is restored to schools and public services.

I provide individual therapy to clients ages 14-18 with variety of presenting problems. Counsel adolescents through life transitions, academic planning, and interpersonal difficulties by implementing individualized goals and objectives to enhance personal satisfaction, responsibility, and independence. Collaborate with teachers, occupational therapists, health care professionals, case managers, and family members to form engaging multidisciplinary team. Co-facilitate 10 week long young women’s relational well-being group consisting of 12 at-risk students. Conduct assessments, intakes, and refer clients to appropriate resources based on individual needs. Maintain notes under HIPPA & FERPA standards to ensure documentation of interventions, goals, and progress. Utilize training in brief, cognitive behavioral, trauma informed, evidence based, and alternative interventions to foster self-awareness, ensure safety, and cultivate healthy coping skills.

Tracked legislation on both the State and Local level and drove understanding of policies externally. Represented and spoke on behalf of Senator at events, meetings and press conferences. Lead strategy coordinator for local campaigns, elected officials and organizations including: San Francisco Supervisor David Campos, California State Senator Leland Yee, and the Oakland Housing Authority. Established messaging for campaign materials including website content, informational hand-outs, and resolutions. Managed press relations for distribution of media alerts, acted as primary contact and gave interviews to local outlets. Planned and coordinated campaign events including press conferences, rallies, public hearings, 200+ volunteer and targeted voter outreach programs. Wrote policy questionnaire responses for community endorsements and prepared candidates for debates and interviews. Analyzed data from polls, field, and fundraising efforts to better direct volunteer efforts and campaign strategy.
