Laura Hewitt Ladd leads private investment organizations. For nearly 20 years she has advised and, for the last four years, she has led a private family office. She is Trustee on a number of multigenerational family trusts. She successfully chaired and led the investment committee of the $8.5B public pension system serving 55,000 recipients in Wyoming. She is an independent director of two different Trust companies, one based in the north shore of the Boston area, the other based in Wyoming. The Boston based firm is a 100+ year old multi-generation family office, wealth management and trust company where she serves as the only non-family member Director. She serves on the investment committees of both Trust companies. Her 28 years of professional experience has earned her a reputation as an effective leader and honest broker with fellow directors, investment professionals, Governors, legislators, equity partners, lenders, beneficiaries and family members. Laura was on staff as an Energy and Economics adviser to Wyoming Governor Dave Freudenthal, and has subsequently contributed to Wyoming’s initiatives in carbon capture and wind energy economics. She retains one of the nation’s largest cooperative electric utilities a client and has been an expert witness on a number of utility rate cases.Laura is also the Chair of the Board of CLIMB Wyoming and a member of the Advisory Board of Compass Working Capital. She is passionate about self-sufficiency and supporting women seeking to change the trajectory of their lives and those of their families. Laura holds an MBA from Wharton and a BS in business cum laude from Pepperdine. She and her husband, Ted, have lived in Wilson, Wyoming for 20 years. She is a dog lover, a retired marathon runner and a passionate backcountry skier.
