I led the production of Clark Schaefer Hackett's internal and external communications, integrating our brand story across multiple media channels. As the firm's corporate writer, I drafted copy for sales materials, biographies and brochures, and created targeted messaging for our print ads. I also managed the firm's internal communications and public relations efforts.

I spent several years as the landlord of several single-family homes. I negotiated purchase, renovated, and profitably marketed these homes for rent. I have written lease terms, maintained maintenance and upkeep, collected rents, and fostered positive tenant relations.

I left the salaried workforce, choosing instead to spend nearly a decade as a fully-engaged manager of our home and family. But at every opportunity, I continued to flex my muscles in marketing and communications. I volunteered for our church as a contributing author to the parish bulletin; and at my children's school as a member of the marketing.

As a member of this agency-style public relations team, I served various departments with communication needs. My accounts included Behavioral Health, Women's Health, the Diversity Department, Senior Living, and Internal Communications. I managed budgets, created communication plans, and executed tactics. I wrote, edited and produced newsletters, managed.

I was responsible for leading the agency's fundraising efforts. I developed and oversaw board-member-driven fund appeals, direct mail campaigns, and special events. Under my advisement the agency re-tooled the Career Women of Achievement event as the Women of Influence Lunch. Today this event has grown to become the Dayton Area's fourth largest fundraiser.

I strategized and implemented marketing and fundraising campaigns. I made presentations to the board to train them in their own fundraising efforts, managed special events, executed direct mail campaigns, and wrote grant applications.

I had the honor of working for and learning from Cate Mathile Laden, who managed the corporate contributions of the Iams Company, which was then privately-owned by the Mathile Family. I offered administrative help in evaluating funding requests and producing a strategic planning class for local not-for-profit organizations. During this time, I also served.
