Discover is in the debit card business! Businesses must accept Discover in order to process Apple Pay transactions. Millenials are disrupting the Credit Card industry, they prefer debit cards or touchless payments such as Apple Pay on their phone or watch. In my year-long contract, I worked in areas where banks have rebranded their debit cards to Discover. I worked with customers who were unwilling or unable to process Discover Cards. I was able to resolve 95% of these high profile accounts by developing relationships with the customers and their card processors.In addition, I also called on businesses where bank customers had used their debit card previously, to ensure bank customers would have a seamless transition to Discover debit cards. I was able to travel to the bank branch locations to do Discover debit card testing and resolve outstanding merchant issues while making sure that all Discover signage and Apple Pay signage were up to date.
