Ast Dance TeacherAdvanced Skills Teacher 2005 - PresentI was awarded Advanced Skills Status for Dance in June 2015 and was subsequently seconded to North Tyneside LEA two days a week as an AST and co-ordinator for Dance. Within this role I was responsible for delivering Advisory work and CPD to primary, secondary and special schools across North Tyneside and neighbouring LEAs, to students on the Northumbria University PE SCITT and the North Tyneside Early Years SCITT courses as well as at various conferences.I was also responsible for the organisation and coordination of dance festivals, professional dance residencies, gifted and talented provision and youth dance groups. I personally choreographed for local youth dance and gifted and talented dance groups, which performed at both local and national level.Advanced Skills Status was a status awarded to the UK's most outstanding teachers between 1998-2015. The role was introduced to reward excellent teachers who chose to stay working in classrooms, rather than following other routes to promotion through leadership. http://bit.ly/2mfJOKr

Organiser And Co-Ordinator North Shields Schools Dance FestivalNorth Shields Schools Dance Association Sep 2001 - Aug 2013Whilst working as a PE and Dance Teacher at John Spence Community High School, I alongside teachers from two other local secondary schools formed the North Shields Schools Dance Association. Together we organised and co-ordinated over 600 pupils from four Secondary Schools and over thirty Primary schools to perform over three consecutive nights at the annual North Shields Schools Dance Festival. The festival specialised in creative dance with themes ranging from 'The World of Sport' . 'Language to Dance to' 'Past & Present' to name but a few. The festival continues to run every year and I and the rest of my team now solely work with the local schools to deliver creative dance workshops and choreograph for the festival.
