Associate Director, Economic Access Initiative
Worked as "right-hand" to Senior Advisor and Former Director of Financial Aid in establishing the office, a university commitment to leveraging resources on campus to help low income and first generation students attend and succeed in college. Championed the use of current college students in access efforts, culminating programming, curriculum and events using a near-peer model to propel younger students on a college path. Advised College Mentors for Kids, Students for Equal Access, Access 88, Alternative Spring Breaks and Senior to Senior. Over the course of six years, these programs reached over 10,000 young students and their families.Originated first generation efforts on campus including a Buckeye Leadership Collaborative summer program, first gen faculty gatherings and other events designed specifically for students and their families.
