CurrentReorganized the IT division to better support a new emphasis on content and digital identity as well as to create teams within IT that can better respond to staff and public needs. This initiative has promoted technical growth and fostered leadership skills as well as providing enhanced support for both the systems and the people that IT is responsible for. Implemented an open-source discovery layer with integrated social media and other outward-facing features to help us build and maintain a strong relationship with our customers. Led migration to current integrated library system (ILS) software and away from poorly configured and failing ILS hardware and software solution forging a renewed relationship with key vendor in the process. Administer E-Rate and Information Technology budget and City procurement process. Obtained non-profit status with Google and implemented Enterprise services for the Free Library. Currently exploring other “cloud” and “software-as-a-service” initiatives. Leading all parts of IT through a server virtualization project to refresh and consolidate critical servers. Supporting transition of website to responsive design.
