I support, advocate, and educate people with mental health challenges as they navigate wellness and recovery. I received my Associate of Arts degree in 1995 and have since worked in several fields, helping different populations of individuals. I started as a peer specialist for adults struggling with mental health challenges in 2012 and received my Florida Certification in 2016. I have provided in-patient and out-patient support groups and individual remote contact during COVID-19. I've taught Wellness Recovery Action Plan classes and trained future trainers for the Leadership Academy. I have had the opportunity to sit on panels for law enforcement. Being an active listener with interpersonal skills has allowed me to learn from clients, colleagues, and educators. I am continuing my education at the University of West Florida with a degree in Psychology. I aim to increase my knowledge to better provide for people in the mental health community.
