Responsible for DARC’s production and post-production equipment and facilities, including repairs, identifying maintenance issues, fulfilling maintenance and ensuring safety protocols.Regularly consulting members on their projects and offering equipment orientations outside of workshops. Planning equipment acquisitions and triaging, working with budgets up to $30,000. Purchasing equipment and facilitating external repairs as requiredReporting to the Director and board of directors of the centre to discuss strategic purchases and initiatives. Financial management that includes invoicing and collecting payments for member services (mobile equipment, post production, and soundstage use). Regularly meeting with other managers to review policies, points of access and identify technical needs for upcoming programming. Supervising contract staff, student interns/placements, temporary seasonal staff, etc., through all daily technical operations. Ensuring overall technical excellence of the centre while fulfilling the mandate to support a diverse community of media artists empowered by technology, programming and the exchange of ideas.
