Since opening its door in 2007, Sol Food has been a staple in the Marin community. This Puerto Rican favorite is most recognizable by its grasshopper-green exterior and overflowing line around the block. Sol Food is the winner of many local Marin awards, and was recently featured in the 2018 Michelin Guide. I was hired here as a cashier and was immediately promoted as soon as a Management position became available.- Responsible for opening the store with and while managing team members- Assigned daily cleaning task lists to team members, making sure the store stayed clean and well organized for the best customer experience possible- Gave breaks to team members within the appropriate guidelines of California state law while keeping floor sufficiently staffed- Disciplined team members when necessary - Handled all cash for shift, including opening and closing drawers, balancing change, cash drops and allotting tips- Operated every aspect of the floor, from register to barback, expediting food dishes, running food dishes, busing tables, and line-management- Handled any guest complaints or concerns- Controlled the active and overwhelming environment of San Rafael's busiest restaurant

The Peet’s at Battery and Bush is nested in between two major commuter train stations, resulting in a consistent line out the door. Known for it’s fast and friendly service, this location thrives on it’s perpetually busy atmosphere. I was hired as an outside hire for a Shift Manager position and was promoted to Assistant Manager within my time there. - Reviewed applicants for Team Member positions, interviewed prospective employees, consulted for hiring and firing employees - Systematized inventory, consulted waste and sales reports when ordering new product to maximize store budget- Handled cash and credit procedures; including safe access, trips to the bank to exchange cash, cash drops, calculating and apportioning tips, and operating a cash register- Troubleshot and fixed broken equipment, called IT and put in maintenance requests when unable to do so- Trained new Team Members in store procedures on retail level- Trained existing Team Members when promoted from retail to Shift Leader on all of the aforementioned information above- Held individualized classes for Barista training towards Peet’s certification
