My research explores the use of an intravaginal medical device (femfit®) to improve pelvic floor muscle health and reduce urinary incontinence symptoms. The femfit is a slim, flexible device designed to produce a vaginal pressure profile. Measuring pressures in the vagina can provide insight to PFM activation and function. The femfit wearable device can detect PFM and intra-abdominal pressures simultaneously and transmits this as real-time visual biofeedback to a user’s mobile phone.Key Achievements and Skills-granted Health and Disability Ethics Committee, Auckland District Health Board Locality Approval for clinical study with 60 women experiencing stress urinary incontinence. Recruited participants, managed study throughout Covid-19 protocols (2019-2021)-user experience design: integral role in developing femfit mobile application-user-centric co-design methodologies (focus groups, usability studies, surveys, participant feedback)Conference presentation and research publications (see Publications, Honors & Awards below)
