From a young age I’ve been fascinated with two things: food and the environment. Though these didn’t seem to be connected at the time, as I grew older I realized my career path would take me somewhere that somehow could combine the two.As a child, too small to reach the counter, I could often be found standing on a stool in the kitchen mixing cake batter, preparing whipped cream, or piping buttercream. I baked my first cake at the age of five. In 4th grade I developed a deep connection with the planet when I was given the book 50 Simple Things Kids Can Do To Save The Earth. By the end of elementary school, I had discovered my two main passions. Throughout my academic and professional career, I have developed strong team leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of food and beverage, as well as cultivated relationships in the restaurant industry. In addition, I’ve learned and implemented sales techniques and strategies that would allow me to add value wherever I land. My time at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, a chef-driven restaurant leading the farm-to-table movement, opened the door for me seeing the possibilities of what a profitable, environmentally conscious restaurant could be. Using the restaurant as a platform, I immersed guests in this concept, and was able to effectively communicate why learning about food and farms matter. At Momofuku, I continued to seek out ways to elicit excitement around food and elevated my ability to be persuasive and drive customer satisfaction. My accomplishments in sales, team training, and customer success brought Momofuku to select me to help lead the opening for the brand’s first North American foray outside the US in Toronto, Canada. I thrive in situations such as these where overachieving drives me to push even harder and perform even more strongly. Living and working in New York’s restaurant and wine industry for the majority of my adult life, I’ve grown both personally and professionally. Realizing that making connections and enriching people’s lives in whatever capacity is what I do best. In my free time I deliver memorable experiences to my clients making cakes and desserts that enhance their special occasion. As I look to the future, my journey continues in my quest to save the earth, promote joy, and seek out ways to put my skills to work that will benefit others.
