Anticipated the needs of and logistically managed over an average of 60 young adult crew members per year to complete conservation-based fieldwork and service projects on public lands throughout the Southeast: managed crew members and leaders in the field and shop space.Collaborated with a small operations team to support diverse crew models in their efforts to complete conservation service projects in compliance with project partner’s needs and requirements in project contracts.Created and maintained organizational systems for logistical management for vehicles, hand tools, chainsaws, personal protective equipment, first aid kits, and budgets. Managed five budget line items totaling over $20,000.

Served as a liaison between SBFC and the Salmon-Challis National Forest to plan, coordinate, and complete Wilderness stewardship projects. Provided supervision and leadership for the Wilderness Ranger Interns and Staff. Crew leader for a group of four. Coordinated, scheduled, planned, and led trail projects to accomplish Wilderness character monitoring and annual and deferred maintenance using traditional tools. Organized, and led volunteer projects, including menu and tool planning

Greeted the public at the front counter in the Clerk of Court office. Assisted the public with filing procedures while providing them with resources from our office. Assisted credit agencies, investigative agencies, and the general public in record searches for Missoula County dating back to the late 1800s. Collected appropriate fees for completing search requests and obtaining documents. Assisted in filing various types of legal documents for the general public and law firms, and collected appropriate fees for each type of filing. Assisted in the issuing and filing of marriage licenses.

Spent most days of work digging tread with pick-mattock, removing roots and vegetation, removing rocks, and set rocks in place for stairs with a wench or rock bar. Gained knowledge of equipment assembly and installations. Worked alongside volunteers and facilitated a safe work environment. Helped complete the Dripping Springs section on the Cumberland Trail in Catoosa WMA. Worked on the Piney River section of the Cumberland Trail.

Worked on Wilderness steward projects in the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest related to cut & run log removal, deferred maintenance, tread work, invasive species monitoring, campsite monitoring, and Solitude Primitive Unconfined Recreation (SPUR) monitoring.

Helped maintain the park’s trail system by removing invasive plants and pruning over- grown vegetation. Assisted in taking care of the small collection of native animals kept for educational purposes. Animals included: snakes, turtles, frogs, spiders, lizards, and other reptiles. Assisted in educational activities for visitors. Assisted in the show & tell of the collected animals for the purpose of educating children visiting the park. Accompanied on guided nature walks to educate visitors on the native plants and animals in the trail system.
