I also manage regional filing, "freedom-to-operate" clearance and enforcement programs covering the greater Asian region including Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Myanmar, Laos, and Australia. I also regularly assist local Hong Kong Government bodies, research organisations, universities, start-ups, SMEs and entrepreneurs in cost-effectively procuring and enforcing Patents, Designs, Trade Marks and Copyright in the US, Europe and other key overseas markets. This involves original drafting of Patent specifications, advising on suitable multi-jurisdictional Patent filing strategies, and substantive prosecution of Patent families globally.My technical expertise covers a broad range of technology sectors including the fashion and luxury items industry (e.g. garments, shoes, fragrances and jewellery), engineering (e.g. analogue/digital electronics, telecommunications and data processing systems, computer hardware/software, e-commerce business systems, materials sciences and electro-mechanical devices and processes) as well as household consumer products (e.g. packaging, toys and household appliances).I have specialist experience and expertise in the utilisation of Trade Fair IP rights enforcement procedures in compliance with WTO obligations, and, implementing emergency IP rights recovery and salvaging strategies to mitigate inadvertent loss of IP rights in Hong Kong and internationally.
