I am a junior at the University of North Texas, aspiring to be a pharmacists, in the future. Being a Biology major I am fascinated by the human anatomy, dissecting animals and plants, and also because it is hands on. Studying Biology allows me to understand more about life and also how different bodies function in life. This experience is rewarding in itself being able to learn so much about many organisms and how they adapt to the world we live in today. While studying Biology many questions come to mind because this topic covers a variety of things. Is it best to pursue a B.S. or a B.A. before heading to pharmacy school? What are the pros and cons of working for a retail pharmacy and working as a hospital pharmacists? Are the jobs in pharmacy declining or increasing? What is a good minor to have if you are going into pharmacy after undergrad?Being a Biology major I have taken most coursework that is required by the degree program. This includes entry-level and advanced coursework in math and Biology. I have also taken management, leadership, and first aid classes to enhance my knowledge in different subjects that I feel would make me stronger in my career.As of now, I am a pharmacy technician trainee working at CVS pharmacy. I plan to study different Pharmacy tech books in order to take the certification test. This will eventually lead me to be a pharmacy technician, where I will gain experience in my field.
