My interests are in engagement with local environmental issues, particularly climate change, and how it may affect not only people’s views on those issues but also underlying mindsets and norms surrounding prosocial behavior, efficacy beliefs, communal values, sense of place, and more. We live in a world of complex, global, systemic issues that society must wrestle with on every level from the individual to the international, and community-scale engagement involving the people and places that we often care most deeply about has an important role in shaping how society responds to those issues. I approach my work with an interdisciplinary background and mindset, striving to understand what a society with a sustainable relationship to the environment looks like and how, practically, we can get there in terms of policy, technology, and individual and community decisions.
