A musical theater kid from Long Beach she is one of the 2% of actors in LA actually born and raised in Los Angeles county. Lauren sometimes works as a dance instructor at JEMS Dance Center in Westminister, California where her students have won numerous awards at dance competitions for her piece "Inside". She has worked extensively both onstage and off on many traditional musicals, as well as many new works in the Los Angeles area, including the award winning "The Break-up Notebook, The Lesbian Musical", and "The Enlightenment" which she choreographed, and accidentally wrote. After working as a musical theater actor for 14 years, Lauren decided to intentionally throw her own hat into the ring with "The Gayest Musical Ever". On August 8, 2008 at 8pm and again on August 9th, 2008 at 2pm a staged reading of "The Gayest Musical Ever" was held at the Coast Playhouse in West Hollywood, marking the first step toward making her dream a reality. "The Gayest Musical Ever" follows 5 friends on a typical night out in West Hollywood, as they navigate the stereotypes and search for meaningful connections. With book and lyrics by Lauren Stone and music by first time composer Timothy Hazen Rathke, this is not your grandmother's musical. Tim and Lauren have accomplished a lot since they started working on this piece after meeting at Fiesta Cantina in West Hollywood in February 2007. They hope to bring "The Gayest Musical Ever" as a full scale musical by the end of 2009. Along With “The Gayest Musical Ever” Lauren has been spending her time writing new original screenplays that challenge the conventions of normal “Hollywood” writing.Specialties: advertising, coaching, creative, credit, database administration, english, facilities management, government, instruction, inventory management, microsoft excel, microsoft outlook, microsoft publisher, microsoft word, organizational skills, payroll processing, personnel, publicity, research, sales, scheduling, singing, dance instruction, writing,
