I am a passionate educator and fierce student advocate who believes in the inherent potential of every human being. My area of expertise is focused on achievement motivation and the internal and external factors that create success for individuals in their higher education experience, personal and career development paths, and chosen professions. After earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology at the University of Rhode Island, I received a Master of Education from Boston University in Counseling with a focus on exercise and sport psychology. While my early career was focused on student-athlete success, my education and career path has taken me down the road of developing expertise in the many different facets of student success and achievement. In 1997, I received a Doctoral degree from Boston University in Curriculum and Teaching. My dissertation focused on the behavioral and attitudinal variables that mediate transition adjustment, academic achievement, and success.In every aspect of my work, I lead with empathy and authenticity. My approach is holistic. I am a creative, innovative problem solver who is adept at developing effective, efficient, and responsive programs and services. I have experience in strategic planning, higher education leadership, curriculum development and assessment, executive and faculty development, DEI, student success and retention, student development, and classroom teaching. I am a award-winning educator, talented motivational speaker and workshop facilitator, a published author, practitioner, and researcher.
