I held this position for 10 years, then worked with Ellucian (Banner) for 1 year before returning to Strata Information Group.I lead short and long term projects for colleges and universities aimed at improving processes and maximizing the institution’s investment in their ERP system, primarily in the Financial Aid department. Training is a key deliverable, with an institution's ability to continue and train others after the project is complete, as an indicator of success. Delivery of Financial Aid funds to students is a key process in any institution, which requries integration with other departments and processes. The ability to communicate effectively with those areas, and management at various levels, is key to the success of the project. As the project leader, I work with Financial Aid staff members, IT and other departments to identify opportunities to improve customer service and become more effective, and to devise a plan and design a solution to implement. As a hands on member of the Financial Aid team I have led a business process analysis session, provided business or technical training, assisted with interpreting regulations, written policies and/or procedures, created some programming code or updated system setup.My role is different each week, with each client, and I enjoy the challenge of dealing with the continually changing, unique pressures and constraints of each situation.

As a business analyst, I track and analyze federal regulations and college/university business needs to determine how best to ensure regulatory compliance, and improve the Banner Financial Aid software product. Ellucian employs Agile methodology, using JIRA and Confluence as two of many software tools, and I use those daily in my work. Ellucian also provides many in house educational opportunities and I am currently working my way through coursework to improve my use and understanding of development methodologies, with a goal of certification through the Scrum Alliance and Project Management Institute.

Succeeded in designing processes which reduced student/customer wait times from two months to two weeks. Led the team through the implementation and go-live year of a new system.
