While there, she was one of the first women to complete EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) training. Laurie went on to work for the Navy's Marine Mammals Program, training whales, dolphins and sea lions.In 2004 Laurie launched her activist career by forming a group called Parents Protecting the Minds of Children. In 2009 she helped organize political groups and grassroots organizations across the state and the nation with Arkansas Unite!.Her involvement with grassroots organizations allowed her to turn her passion into a career. I was one of a handful of women that completed Diver/EOD training at that time.
