My goal is to use my abilities as a writer and as a public speaker to generate public awareness of Spina Bifida, and also to highlight pressing issues affecting public health as well as the Latino community. I'm a graduate of the University of Central Florida with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. My areas of concentration were Communications and Social & Behavioral Sciences, and my minor was in English Writing. My skills as a fully-bilingual writer and speaker would make me a great asset to any journalism, marketing, or PR team. My 5 years of experience in blogging and social media have additionally fully equipped me with the technology savvy to become a Spanish social media consultant for various clients. My clients can rest assured they are putting their project in the hands of a consummate professional and chronic grammar perfectionist! Also, I love engaging and interacting with new people, which adds to my effectiveness as a public relations professional. Since August 29, 2009, I have been writing a blog (Holdin' Out for a Hero) to promote awareness of my cause, while simultaneously allowing my readers to share in my personal struggles and triumphs with spina bifida.In July 2011, I launched Espresso con Leche as a bilingual blog focused on sharing stories about my personal experiences as a Latina living in the U.S. I am currently the Director of Latinos in Social Media (LATISM) Central Florida Chapter.
