Summary Internationally recognized leader of the NRCS' exemplary scientific and technologically based natural resources conservation policies, programs, practices, and activities. The critical leader in re-establishing technical excellence throughout NRCS' 1,500 State, Area, and Field office staffs-successfully securing field-level Farm Bill implementation. As Deputy Chief for Science and Technology, he was responsible for developing and maintaining natural resource technologies and systems that supports the wise use of resources through the work of 450 interdisciplinary specialists assigned to four national divisions. He had established a technical service provider initiative to help NRCS address its heavy Farm Bill workload. He oversaw the science based work of six National Centers and three National Technology Support Centers. He also served as the senior scientific advisor the agency Chief on scientific and technical matters.
