Level 2 trauma center blood bank - ER (Cat1 and Cat2 Traumas), OR, ICU, NICU, L&D, and floor emergency issues. Tissue bank inventory management and processing per FDA guidelines. Massive Transfusion Protocol and OB Critical Hemmorhage protocol, type and screens, crossmatches, DAT poly and IgG, prewarm procedure, cord blood workups, fetal bleed screens, antigen typing, blood product confirmations, weak D, microscopic agglutination checks, rhogam, inventory management, transfusion reaction investigation workup. Solo blood banker on evening shift to fulfill the blood and tissue needs for the 181 bed hospital using the tube method. Communication with RNs and providers to discern their needs and urgency to prioritize workloadSysmex XN-3100, manual diffs, RBC/platelet morphologies, troubleshooting/interpretation of flags and abnormal results, cold agglutinin/plasma/saline replacement procedures, FFN, Fern slides, SedRate, Thromboelastography (TEG), CSF/body fluid cell counts and diffs, ACL Top 350 interpretation of abnormal coagulation curves and results, manual urinalysis microscopy with chemical dipstick, urine eosinophilsAbbott Architect ci4100, osmolality, recognizing abnormal results/samples and communication with nurses, dilutions and airfuge (lipemic samples), multitasking during the supplies, maintenence, reagents, calibration, and QC process. Comfortable with laboratory statistics/math.
