Running the Revoelution project in the Revoe area of Blackpool. This is a Big Local project - £1million over ten years to help improve quality of life for residents of a particularly disadvantaged area of the UK. The primary aim of a Big Local project is to be community-led; any activities funded or run through Revoelution must be based on the views of people who live, work or volunteer in the area. We run regular street consultations, work in partnership with a range of public sector and voluntary agencies delivering projects in the area, run drop-in activities at our Revoelution Hub, and fund small community-based projects in the area.

Writing funding bids, delivering training and one-to-one advice to voluntary organisations on the Fylde Coast on topics such as governance, funding, equalities, sustainability, project planning and trustee responsibilities; this work was funded through the Communities Can Lottery pilot until March 2017.

Acting of behalf of the Local Trust to provide an overview of two Big Local areas - L30s Million in Sefton, Merseyside and Collyhurst Big Local in Manchester. The role involves supporting and advising the Partnerships, ensuring that the project adheres to Big Local principles, liaising with the Local Trusted Organisation and other stakeholders and reporting to the Local Trust. The emphasis of the role is on building the skills and confidence of residents to deliver Big Local themselves.

Funded by Blackpool Council, the Third Sector Support Programme seeks to increase the effectiveness of Blackpool's Third Sector by raising the profile of voluntary, community and faith groups, improving the sustainability of community groups and increasing the number of people involved in local community activity through a series of community development projects.

The UK Online project at CVS aims to enable individuals and voluntary organisations on the Fylde Coast to make the most of the internet and digital technology. We support a number of centres in the area providing free training on computer basics, and we advise local community organisations on digital tools that help them become more effective - such as those listed on www.communityhowto.com

Developing plans and guidance around communications and community involvement.Advising management teams on the implications of developments in central government policy around engagement and empowerment.Working with voluntary and community groups to identify training needs and build their capacity to influence local decisions and to provide services to the public sector.

Administrative and communications support for geographically extended team of community development workers in Blackpool, including a bi-monthly newsletter 'Blackpool Community News'.
