Profile bio

About Linda Lay

My research background runs the gamut from counting colonies on an agar plate to counting Post-Its on a whiteboard. I've always been fueled by my passion for human-centered design, using my skills to bridge the technical and tactile and create technology that truly fulfills peoples' needs.Halfway through my university career, I discovered Design for America and led student teams to address issues like digital addiction and food insecurity using human-cenetered design principles. I worked at MSU's Hub for Innovation in Learning and Technology to develop UX strategies, conduct research, and lead workshops for multiple university clients and initiatives. After graduation, I worked as a technical solutions engineer for medical software giant Epic Systems while also conducting user interviews and usability testing. I currently works as a software architect and consultant by day, and tutor kids by night.
