Capitals is small ice cream shop with a vision to serve ice cream in all 50 state capital cities and beyond. Located in the heart of midtown, we serve ice cream, coffee and beer. In November 2019, we opened a sister concept, Cities Ice Cream in Edmond, Oklahoma.• Created four different business concepts from 3 cafes to an eCommerce platform that employ over 50 people.• Lead product design and development for all concepts. This includes developing ice cream flavors, working with vendors to create product lines for an online retail platform, and finding the best way to tell the story about our ice cream and coffee brands.• Oversaw design, plan, and implementation of three cafe locations.

Better Block projects are temporary, block-level interventions that demonstrate a series of rapid prototypes. We work with the community, using their tools, knowledge, and resources, to revitalize neighborhoods. Our projects range from designing and installing short term urban interventions (adding bike lanes, pop-up shops etc.) through digital and analog fabrication methods, to activating spaces by coordinating vendors and performers. As Team Better Block's Director of Design, I set urban design goals and vision for each project, determine the priorities for staff production each week to meet client deadlines, create site plans, draft concept plans and outline build plans.• Designed and fabricated quick build installations to revitalize downtowns, plazas, and parks in over 30 cities.• Wrote an award winning pop-up placemaking tool kit published by AARP and distributed to over 1,000 organizations.• Created a global design and fabrication competition to design a new standard for bike lane delineators in partnership with Ford Motor Company.

• Oversaw client relations with city government, community partners, and stakeholders to see a project from beginning to end.• Collected and documented qualitative and quantitative data metrics to determine design and policy choices for city governments.• Worked with more than 30 cities across the United States to test innovative design and policy solutions.• Facilitated relationships with local and state planning organizations, transit authorities, advocacy groups, and the general public to advocate for innovative design and policy solutions.

• Business liaison between the district association and business owners.• Planned and implemented marketing and programming efforts, including two festivals with a 20,000 person attendance and a monthly district art walk.

Programmed and led school’s premiere orientation experience for thousands of new students with three team members by securing sponsorships worth over $30,000, managing day-to-day operations of student staff and fast paced headquarters, and creating assessment tool to measure camper and staff experience.
