The Director of Production is a senior staff member and reports directly to the Managing Director in support of the mission of the theatre and the artistic vision of the Artistic Director. The Director of Production is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Production Department, ensuring that all Alliance productions are executed within budget in a safe, efficient, and timely manner while maintaining artistic excellence and integrity.

As a member of the senior staff, the director of production is responsible for furthering the goals and artistic vision of The Rep. The Director of Production should provide leadership and accountability including production staffing, supervision, evaluation, planning and logistical coordination; budgeting and financial control.JOB DUTIES:• Hiring, and supervision of all production department heads as well as technical staff including all members of scenery, props, paint, costumes, sound, electrics, stage management.• Serve as liaison between the production and administrative departments.• Collaborate with directors and designers to ensure the artistic vision of each production works within the available resources of time and budget.• Monitor the progress of each department throughout the production process on each show.• Advise on the selection of all designers for each production.• Prepare, monitor, report on annual production budgets.• Coordinates the development of the master calendar and production-specific schedules and deadlines; monitors inter-production department scheduling as needed.• Maintain communication between all departments for each production.• Participate in strategic planning for the production department and the organization as a whole.• Work with artistic director and managing director on season planning and budgeting.

Duties/Responsibilities: (Primary)Responsible for assisting the Director of Production in the leadership, management, and oversight of all production areas including the Lighting, Sound, Costume, Props, Scenery, Multimedia, and Stage Management Departments. Primary responsibilities include:Secondary duties include: Participating in the operations of the production departments and serving as a responsible, engaged, and informed advocate for the health of Center Stage; and supporting building-wide events to advance our mission.

I worked on department productions, drafting, budgeting, and teaching. I tried to do what was asked to make sure we put on the best possible productions. I also oversaw our smaller venues and helped organized our showcase season.
