The system is also used by the administration's staff to perform all the required administrative tasks, such as reservation & agenda management, examination room monitoring, etc.Defined the product requirements with the customer, followed by the functional analysis and software architecture. Performed the development, testing and maintenance of the application.The system consists of a Java Web application (Struts/Tiles) running under Tomcat on Windows and connected to an Oracle database (Hibernate).

Participated in the global system architecture, technological choices and team organization of GOCA’s new Belgian driver’s license management application. The system was scheduled to be deployed in 30+ locations across Belgium. It is used by end users to complete on-site theoretical examinations as well as by staff members to perform various administrative tasksFully designed and implemented the theoretical examination modules, which are used by candidates to complete their exams.The architecture defines a Java back-end with a desktop front-end, communication through SOAP Web Services, JMS-based real-time data exchange between application instances, Web-based exam workstation with rich multimedia content (sound, image, movie and rich text).

Technical and project lead for a team of 4 engineers to create the client portion of SpotLife’s video service, a B2B 3-tier system that provides a way for customers to easily add video to their web site. This service has been successfully deployed for Yahoo! Video Mail, eBay, Recrut, VideoSnap and more.Responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of the client software, composed of ActiveX controls to capture, playback, encode and upload video clips, as well as JavaScript objects to form an API on top of the controls.Mentored engineers, organised design and code reviews, responsible for the project planning, interacted with Marketing & QA during all phases of the project lifecycle.

Started as a software engineer working on the legacy Digital Video Network Management System (NMS) and gradually became the technical architect for Harmonic's next generation NMS.Defined an N-tier architecture after gathering marketing requirements and customer suggestions.Organised and lead the team design meetings.Investigated, presented and encouraged new technologies (MTS, Web, XML) wherever applicable. Participated in the overall project planning.Successfully prototyped a functional system leading to: proof of concept, API acceptance and base implementation for the final product (C++, COM+).Also designed and implemented an API on top of the legacy NMS and a distributed client application interfacing with the API.Technical contact for interactions with partners for API enhancements and future directions in the Harmonic's Open Architecture approach.Member of Harmonic's GUI standards group.
