- Lead and direct architects to develop capability architecture models and technical standards that enable the transition of Wellmark’s systems from current state to future requirements.- Collaborate with the OCIO on timing and initiative prioritization. - Develop and apply industry best practice technology, design and methodology approaches to implement system solutions to support business processed. - Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture model creation and technical standard development and review. - Provide recommendations and guidance in the design, development, implementation and management of enterprise products and solutions. Responsible for developing, sustaining, and promoting strategic architecture as well as the alignment of technology plans with the enterprise's business direction.- Assist in development of architecture processes and methodologies and educate others on their use.- Contribute to the development of strategic technology plans with a primary focus on solutions, information, or enterprise architecture.- Coordinate and maintain formal and informal documentation associated with area of responsibility.- Define and develop sound architecture deliverables that satisfy stakeholder requirements (functional and non-functional), support business strategy and align with BU and enterprise architecture vision.- Guide and/or conduct technical research in collaboration with appropriate stakeholders. Make recommendations for technology inclusion in enterprise architecture as is appropriate.- Lead and promote reviews of new and changing systems, insuring adherence to formal processes, as well as the alignment to technical architecture and business plans. Recommend appropriate courses of action to stakeholders.- Maintain an awareness of emerging technology trends. Share knowledge gained with stakeholders to assist in shaping plans to utilize technology for competitive advantage.- Mentor, direct, and monitor the work of team members.- Perform operational architecture duties in support of risk management and overall planning efforts.

Functions performed:• Conduct technical research and participate with vendors in the assessment of advanced technology to raise awareness of emerging technology trends and provide recommendations on the strategic implementation of technology.• Participate in and provide technical expertise during the development of infrastructure and application architecture.• Participate in, or provide project management for, advanced technology initiatives.• Recognize and affect change in areas where existing architecture guidelines and processes require alteration or new ones need to be developed.• Participate in feasibility studies for the deployment of new hardware and software.• Participate in the impact analysis of key projects across the organization on existing infrastructure and defined architecture.• May mentor, direct, and monitor the work of team members.
