Lambert van Breemen started at the university in the year 1997. After 3 years of study he wanted to see if there was something else besides studying. So in the year 2000 he decided to join the board of the cultural festival Virus as chairman. After this year he picked up his study, which was difficult after one year of complete absence. In 2003 he finished his internships, one in-house, the other at the ESRF in Grenoble. Both concerning the subject of semi-crystalline polymers. In December 2004 he obtained his MSc degree in the group of Materials Technology under supervision of professor H.E.H. Meijer. During his master phase he was working on the 3D implementation and validation of the Leonov-model, which describes the intrinsic response of glassy polymers, in the FEM package MSC.Marc.In 2009 he finished his PhD entitled "Contact mechanics in glassy polymers", which concerns the numerical/experimental coupling of intrinsic mechanical properties to the observed frictional response in polymer glasses. His promotors were professor H.E.H. Meijer and professor J.M.J. den Toonder and co-promotor L.E. Govaert.Currently he is employed as an assistant professor in the polymer technology group chaired by professor H.E.H. Meijer. He is working on contact mechanics in polymers as well as multi-scale analysis of intrinsic properties of polymer systems.Specialties: constitutive modeling of materials,FEM analysis of products, multi-scale modeling, contact mechanics, non-equilibrium thermodynamics
